About Brian Richards
The Designer and Developer
Brian Richards has been cranking out websites since 1997 and is one of those rare individuals who can design AND code. He spends 80% of his waking hours in a basement (i.e. home office) crafting new innovations for StartBox and developing custom WP themes and child themes for non-profits.
Brian loves photography, kittens, sarcastic remarks, and his beautiful wife.
Preferred Tools of the Trade:
I work on a 24″ iMac with and additional 22″ monitor and a 13″ MacBook Air. I do all of my designing in Photoshop, but often start with a pen and paper. All code is hand-crafted using TextMate (I HIGHLY recommend this app).

In addition to making great web products, we’re passionate about people and ministry. We have been truly blessed. When we launched Startbox our commitment was taking at least 10% off of the top to set in a special fund to finance projects or organizations making a difference in the world.
We have contributed to organizations such as active:water, Persecution Project Foundation, the 100 Wells Campaign, Sweetwater Ministries, Todays Choices Inc, Watermelon Ministries, His House Christian Fellowship and many others.
